Why this is important to me

Hi friends!

I thought it appropriate to pop a little entry in about what inspired me to take on this fundraising challenge.
First and foremost, Bush Heritage is an incredible organisation that is very close to my heart. It has been a big part of my journey with Natural Resource Management, with my first on-ground NRM experience taking place at Bush Heritage's Charles Darwin Reserve in Western Australia. The ground work that is conducted on this reserve (well, on all of the Bush Heritage's Reserves) plays a huge role in protecting, maintaining and enhancing the area's native ecosystems and aboriginal heritage. Visiting, volunteering and attending events at Charles Darwin Reserve inspired me, filled me with joy and blessed me with very special friendships. So I feel like I kinda owe them one. Plus, the work that's being done at the reserves and the ethos with which it is done just makes sense to me. As a not for profit organisation, Bush Heritage relies heavily on donations. So as a privileged, able bodied person, it feels like partaking in a physical fundraising challenge is the least I could do.

I'm aiming to conduct all of my physical contributions to this challenge in my local bushland/forest. I live in a beautiful part of the world and I can not wait to share it with you! I also hope that in doing this I might inspire you to connect with and appreciate the natural world around you. And of course, to make a donation!
