I’m taking on the Groundwork Challenge!

Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a student of conservation science, a wildlife rescue volunteer, and a lover of animals in general! The extinction crisis is very real and an issue of great importance to me, so I'm doing what I can by participating in this fundraiser.

That’s why from 16 November until 16 December, I’m digging deep for the land I love.

I’ve committed to running/walking/rolling every day to protect our native species and their precious habitats.

I can't believe it! Reached my fundraising goal and it's only been two days!! Thank you so much everyone. Looks like I have no choice but to increase my fundraising goal and km target!

New goal is $600 and new target is 75km. Let's do this.

BTW that's my beardie, Obi, looking very pleased about this development. 
(Also please ignore the comment on "King Bing's" donation, my friend thinks he's funny :P) 

Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoo

Wednesday 18th Nov
Couldn't believe my luck when I saw I gorgeous pair of Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoos on my first GC walk last night. Tried to get a photo with my terrible camera phone but they were very high up so this is the best I got! Will post a video of them on my Instagram @jcat159 Though these cockies aren't endangered, they are vulnerable in South Australia and many other species are endangered. They were a timely reminder of the importance of this fundraiser.
