I'm digging deep for the land I love

I’m taking on the Groundwork Challenge!

1 in 5 Australian mammals are on the endangered species list.

That’s why from 16 November until 16 December, I’m digging deep for the land I love.

I’ve committed to running/walking/rolling every day to protect our native species and their precious habitats.

Bush Heritage Australia is an organisation that protects and secures remaining habitats for our native and threatened species.

They also employ Indigenous staff and works directly and alongside Indigenous communities in conducting right-way science.

Please support me as I WALK 15000 steps a day from November 16 to December 16, 2020.

Here's how you can support me and this cause that supports, nurtures, protects and restores your backyard:

1. Donate.

2. Post my fundraising page on your socials.

3. Look up and read more on the Bush Heritage Australia Page. Look at the animals Bush Heritage Protects. Have a read of what they do and how they do and how they do it so you know what you are donating too.

4. I am so sorry, I am going to promote this fundraising event for the next month or so HAHA.

By supporting me, you will be supporting the array of animals and plants that make this land what it is. The natural world needs us, and we need it more than ever, our children need it. Let's look after it.

Please support me and help protect the land we all call home by making a tax deductible donation to Bush Heritage Australia.

Together, we can help restore the bush and protect our native species.

I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land in which we work, live and play, and pay our deep respect to Elders, past, present and emerging.

My Updates

A change of scenery

Friday 27th Nov
We have been visiting family in East Gippsland and it has been interesting to note that I have not walked as much as what I had been doing at home. Most likely because I am too busy taking a seat and taking in the surroundings and beautiful scenery but also because I have been watching the kiddies at the beach too.

Tonight I did ride my mums bike though for 10kms which was a great workout. I haven't ridden a bike in so long. That has helped make up for some of my days where I took less steps.

I am so grateful for everyone who has donated so far, it has been an amazing effort. Because we reached our fundraising budget of $550 I have increased it to $750 and I am hoping we can get it over the line.

Please share my page and this cause with family and friends as it would be great to get to that $750 for such a fantastic cause.

Thanks for being on the journey with me.

The Challenge Has Begun

Monday 16th Nov
The challenge has begun and I have already been walking and pounding the pavement hard.

I am so excited for the challenge and wish it started a few weeks ago as we have been spending most of our weekends in the garden transforming our front yard.

Thank you to everyone thus far who has donated, it is much appreciated. You are all amazing and I thank you very much. It is a great cause and I am so excited that together we will be contributing and making a difference to this beautiful country we call home.

Over and Out,
Elise

A big THANK YOU

Sunday 8th Nov
A big thank you to everyone who has donated and support this cause so far. It is much appreciated.

Over the past week I have been tracking my steps daily thanks to my sister in laws Fitbit. It has been immensely helpful and she has kindly allowed me to borrow it for the month.

Most days I do anywhere from 10k to 12k steps and on other days I have done 16-17k. The biggest challenge will be to keep those steps up on days that I have to drive and run errands with kids as I find the days I have had to drive and do shopping or drop the kids at kinder has been when and where I seem to lose my steps.

Looking forward to the challenge and supporting a wonderful cause.

Thanks again,
Elise
