We’re taking on the Groundwork Challenge!

We love and respect this country, and understand how deeply privileged we are to be able to enjoy the mountains, bush, oceans, rivers and forests. But she needs our help. We want to give something back for all the joy she bring us,  so we have joined the Groundwork Challenge as an incredible opportunity to raise vital funds for conservation across our country.

We are still dealing with the lasting impacts of Australia’s hottest and driest year on record in 2019. It was a year of intensifying drought over eastern Australia, high temperature records and then devastating bushfires of summer 2019-2020. People died, homes were destroyed, thousands of locals and holidaymakers were trapped, communities were isolated without power, and the estimated financial impacts were over A$10 billion. For the natural world

• more than 24 million hectares burnt nationally

• nearly three billion animals killed, injured or displaced

• many threatened species and other ecological communities extensively harmed

Every dollar raised will help Bush Heritage Australia field staff, reserve managers and Traditional Owners do the groundwork that saves our endangered native habitats. This is focused on:

• Science and innovation

• Aboriginal partnerships 

• Future proofing against climate change

• Restoration of the land and bringing it back to life
