My target 150 kms

I’m taking on the Groundwork Challenge!

1 in 5 Australian mammals are on the endangered species list.

That’s why from 16 November until 16 December, I’m digging deep for the land I love.

I’ve committed to running/walking/rolling every day to protect our native species and their precious habitats.

Please support me and help protect the land we all call home by making a tax deductible donation to Bush Heritage Australia.

Together, we can help restore the bush and protect our native species.

Today's Sydney walk curtailed by arrival of thunderstorm.

Main range

Last day in KNP.  View from Guthrie Trig  of main range and new track from Charlotte Pass to Guthega under construction.;

Snowy River in fine flow

Monday 23rd Nov
Stepping stones across the Snowy half submerged after 33 mm rain in the last 24 hours. Had fun watching 6 youngsters with full packs wade across.

Illawong Trail

Saturday 21st Nov
Crossing the Snowy River. Really excited to see the trail work in progress to connect Guthega to Charlotte Pass.  No more car shuffles...

Kosciuszko Road to Seamans Hut

Friday 20th Nov
Walking options still limited by shooting, but covered more distance today.

Lovely lenticular cloud

Friday 20th Nov
Very windy up on top of Mount Stillwell but beautiful clear light and fragrance from the wildflowers en route.  Today we were able to walk the Stillwell loop.  Not much distance but a 319 m ascent.  Thanks to Anne for the photo.

Kosciuszko National Park

Wednesday 18th Nov
Not much walking yesterday as we spent most of the day in the car driving to Charlotte Pass.  We managed a quick stroll up to the pass from the village before dinner.  Today, choices are limited as most of the tracks are closed due to aerial pest control.  Luckily the direct track up Mt Stillwell was still open.  Photo is main range and Mt Kosciuszko from the track.

Garigal National Park

Monday 16th Nov
With Nicola and the team.

Julie’s Journeys

Sunday 15th Nov
Ever since my GP told me that her income was greatly assisted by the Oxfam Trailwalker, where fundraisers walk 100 km in 48 hours, I have avoided such extreme sports. As Bush Heritage is asking me to achieve 100 km in 4 weeks, and their aims are close to my heart, I’ve decided the time has come.
